An introduction to the sweet world of professional baking. Designed for beginner bakers or for those making their way up from our Mini Bakers camp, learn baking fundamentals including: measuring and scaling, kitchen safety and sanitation, and the science and chemistry behind your favourite treats.

This camp will focus on the enhancement of the following Essential Skills

Numeracy, Reading, Working with others

SAFETY NOTE: Campers are required to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the instructors; safety infractions may lead to removal from the camp.

All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes with a good tread; no sandals or open-toe shoes permitted in the kitchens. Long pants are required to be worn in the kitchens; no shorts, capris or low-cut tops. Campers are not permitted to wear nail polish for the duration of this camp. Campers with long hair should ensure that they bring hair elastics to tie back their hair.

Camp includes the preparation of foods containing nuts. SAIT’s kitchens and bakeries process nuts and other allergens.
